A New Blog Layout + A Little Life Update

It really doesn't feel like it's been almost 5 years since I sat down to start this little blog. Whilst I've been running SColvinBeauty all that time, I've always gone through stages of loving blogging and sticking to a schedule and then stages were I was lucky to get one post up a month. I think my health plays a big part in that, then there's times I feel like I lose my blogging spark as well as times my life gets really busy but it's only been recently I've decided I really want to put a lot of effort back into blogging and to get my blog to the place I want it to be.

To help rekindle my love with my blog I thought I'd start with a new design as I just wasn't as happy as I'd like to be with my old one. My new design is much more me, I feel like it's a bit more professional looking (if I do say so myself) and I'm so happy with it! It's crazy how something as simple as a new design can spark so much inspiration just to create new content. I've started writing a list of blog posts and I've already started writing future posts. It just feels good to be back rambling on about makeup, if there's any posts you want to see let me know! I know the main thing I want to start sharing more of on my blog is makeup looks, I often share them on Instagram but I feel like I can go into more detail on how I created the looks in a blog post.

As for my life, well it's been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster lately. It's only 11 days till we're off to New York and whilst I want to be excited and getting everything ready my health has got worse and I actually ended up in hospital on Monday due to my stomach issues. It's been an ongoing issue since just after Christmas and I've been waiting to see a gastro doctor but somehow my referrals gone wrong and I still haven't seen them which I wouldn't mind but my travel insurance company won't cover me unless I have an official diagnosis.

I personally wouldn't risk leaving the UK without insurance because I'm the unluckiest person on the planet so after spending the past couple of weeks chasing up doctors today we found out I've managed to get an appointment on Saturday, you should have heard how happy me and mum were! It still all depends on what he says but fingers crossed it should be ok! We just need to get a name to give the damn insurance company, whether its Crohn's disease which 2 of my gp's think it is from my test results or if it all comes down to my Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. As you can tell it's been stressful, I want to be happy considering I've been counting down the days for nearly a year and I honestly can't let myself think about the thought of not going because I know I'll bloomin cry.

So before I ramble on for much longer, or sob at the thought of not spending 4 days in Sephora buying as much makeup as I possibly can, I'll leave this post here. It's good to be back blogging after my little hiatus and I've got a beauty post scheduled to go up tomorrow (what, who is this? how am I so organised? it probably won't last for long). Thanks for all the love and support! xo

  1. Having a new design and feel to your blog can make you feel so much more motivated and inspired, it definitely worked for me recently. I do love seeing how people revamp their blogs and yours is lovely. Enjoyed catching up with your life from this post.
