A Little Life Update

Well hello there... it's been a while! I can't believe we're now already 18 days into the new year and I'm only just getting round to sharing my first blog post of 2017. Whilst I wanted it to be a more interesting makeup related post to start the year with it just wasn't happening. I explained a little bit about my social media absence over on Instagram a few days ago but I thought it was about time I got a blog post up about what's been going on. I'd actually planned on making 2017 a great blogging year for me but I think I've ended up jinxing myself!

As much as I'd love to have a really cool reason I disappeared like I was off traveling round Australia, gave birth to a child or I had a boob job, unfortunately it was actually all down to my health. I've spoke about my life with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome a few times before (I actually have a post about it here from back in 2015) but during 2016 my health unfortunately got a lot worse. I ended up spending a lot of time in and out of hospital for various EDS related problems last year which I've briefly spoken about but I think the last week of December was probably the worst.

It's all been down to my stomach and some infections I've had. It's still an ongoing issue so I'm having tests and seeing doctors but it's just so annoying. I've lost my appetite, I'm struggling to keep food down and when I do eat I end up in tears as it hurts my stomach so much. My stomachs so swollen I look about 6 months pregnant, it's just not how I planned to start the year off! I hate to be all moany but sometimes you just gotta moan. Being ill meant that makeup was a distant memory *gasp* but luckily I've started perking up a bit over the past couple of days so it's been good being back at my dressing table deciding how much glitter it's acceptable to cover my face with.

Besides the health dramas, my life has been really good lately. I've got a lot of things to look forward to this year but the most exciting has to be New York! It's now only 75 days till we're off and I can't wait... hello Sephora, adios money. I've got my 21st next month (how?! wasn't it my 13th birthday last year?!) and I'm also trying to persuade mum to go on a little trip to Barcelona later on in the year as it's always somewhere I've wanted to go. I've also recently said goodbye to the pink hair and I've gone back to silver/purple for a bit. It's nice to have cool toned hair now so I can switch up my makeup looks a bit more and I can't wait to play around and share some new looks.

As far as my blog goes, I'm still determined to make 2017 the year I get my blog to a point I'm happy with. I really want to get into a blogging schedule as well as working on improving my photography big time! I checked on Bloglovin the other day and I saw I've somehow managed to gain nearly 60 followers already this year which is crazy. I appreciate the love and support I receive so much and it still amazes me that people take the time to read me ramble on about makeup. So I thought I'd try and keep this post brief (lol I'm never brief) but it's good to be back in the blogging world! Hope you're all doing well and I should be back with a beauty related post on Friday!

  2. Aw, so sad to hear about your poor health! Definitely a legitimate reason to lose some blogging mojo. Glad you're back though. Hope you enjoy New York, can't wait to see some photos and be envious!
