Recent High End Beauty Purchases

Makeup is my weakness, there's just something so addictive about picking up new products and lets be real 99% of my spare money goes on makeup but lipstick or food? Lipstick always wins. Since booking New York back in July I was on a bit of a spending ban whilst I payed for that but now the bans over it was time for some serious hauling, the spending ban almost killed me so it was time to treat myself! Typical me didn't just stop with the one item so today I thought I'd share everything I've picked up, I love a good haul post!

Side note: Before I get fully into the post I just wanted to say sorry for the absence, this is my first post in just over 3 weeks and honestly I didn't even realise it had been that long. I was going to share a full post explaining my absence but there's no exact reason, it was just life I guess. Health issues, uni drama and just an incredibly busy few weeks made blogging hard but I'm back *fingers crossed* and it feels good to be blogging again so lets get into the good stuff, the makeup!

One of my first purchases was the new Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette, the day it launched on the UD website I put it in my basket and checked out like my life depended on it. I love Urban Decay, they're one of my favourite brands and their eyeshadows are a real stand out product so it was only a matter of time till this beauty was mine - a palette full of mattes, gimme. I've been absolutely loving it so far, the colour pay off and formula of the shadows is next level. I won't ramble on about it here as I've got a full review going up next week, but if you've been considering this palette, DO IT!

With my palette order came a little selection of samples and the Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation was one of them. I've had a few samples of this over the years but never got around to purchasing the full size, that was until the sample completely won me over and I decided it was finally time I caved in and bought it. Since buying this I've worn it practically daily and it just does everything I need a foundation to do. It's so lightweight to wear, it gives medium coverage and leaves my skin looking like skin and not a dry cakey mess, it's like magic in a bottle.

Another purchase that was actually from a good few weeks ago now was the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bow N Arrow. I've actually featured this in a post already as this was originally meant to go up first but I'm a crappy blogger and life got in the way. The Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks are hands down my favourite formula when it comes to liquid lipsticks and Bow N Arrow doesn't disappoint. The colour is perfect, it's a fawn nude that just works with so many makeup looks and it just lasts so well without leaving my lips feeling like I've plastered them with cement, the addiction is real.
Because just hitting up two brands wasn't enough, I caved at the MAC counter and picked up more than I'd originally gone into buy, story of my life. The reason I originally popped into MAC was to pick up some Fix+, I can't rave about it enough and it's one product I just can't be without. As much as I love it, I can't believe how expensive it's got over the years! I remember paying £12.50 for this back in the day and it's gradually increased to £17.50 now which is a heck of a price jump but I just love it too much to stop repurchasing it!

Whilst I was at the counter I decided to pick up some new brow products I'd had my eyes on. The first is the Brow Pencil in Lingering, this has sat on my wishlist for a good couple of years and I can't believe I put off buying it for so long. I've heard a lot of makeup artists rave about this, the main one being Charlotte Tilbury and when she raves about something there's a 99% chance I end up buying it. At first I was worried it would be too dark for my platinum hair but it matches my brows perfectly. It's a very universal shade that's not too warm nor too grey which works perfectly with my brow colour, I find finding the perfect brow colour a real challenge with my hair colour but this is perfect.

The other brow product I picked up isn't actually a brow product but it's one I've heard is great for platinum hair, the Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Tailor Grey. It was originally Georgia (@grgctts) that I saw using this on her brows and lets be real, she's brow goals so I had to give this a try. It's pretty much the same as the ABH Dipbrow Pomade and works the same way, so I simply take it on an angled brush and apply it. The colour is PERFECT for me, when I'm wanting a more neater "Instagram" brow then I'll opt for this, it photographs beautifully and makes my sparse patchy (thanks alopecia) brows look half decent, it's a miracle.

So those are my recent high end purchases, I've also been a bit spendy in the drugstore so expect another haul soon... I just can't stop spending! What products have you bought recently?

  3. I tried the UD Naked Skin Foundation a few years ago. It leaves a beautiful finish on the skin. I love how natural it looks. Unfortunately, it broke me out, so I had to return it.

  4. I usually like UD but I wasn't too impressed with their matte palette. It resembles both of their naked basics palettes thrown into one. I love the FIX+ spray, total holy grail product! I use it everyday :)
