Monthly Favourites | January 2016

February is here meaning today marks 9 days until I turn 20, twenty, 2 0. I'm officially closing the teen chapter of my life and entering full on adulthood and it's such a weird feeling! I really do still feel like my 14 year old self except with more commitments and adult stress, apparently the 20's is when you're really meant to get your shit together, I wonder if that'll ever happen!

Being the first day of the month means the arrival of my monthly favourites, and January hasn't been that exciting makeup wise as money isn't great after Christmas - thank Jesus for payday! I'd originally planned on going on a no makeup buying January but lets be real of course that failed, although I've managed to have some kind of self control and I've been digging out some of my less loved products to give another try, but that hasn't stopped the odd purchase (#makeupaddictproblems). These are the products I've been loving throughout January...

When I saw this palette released back in December I rushed onto the Too Faced website and snapped it up so fast I don't even think I had time to think through the purchase, I just new I had to own it! I've wanted to try the Too Faced Love Flush blushes for ages so when I saw all 6 of the shades being released in a palette it was perfect. I've been loving the formula and the colour range in this palette, but the stand out shade has to be How Deep Is Your Love and I'll certainly be buying this shade in the full size!

Sleek Solstice Highlighter Palette

Another cheek product (no surprise there) and this time it's a highlighter, well four of them! This palette from Sleek has got to be one of my all time favourite products, I absolutely love it! It contains 3 powders and one cream which just work so well on the skin. My favourite shade is the yellow toned one on the bottom left which I've been wearing almost daily. The shades are really pigmented and feel a lot higher quality considering it's from the drugstore, this is a must have!

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation

So I'm well aware I'm probably the last blogger on the Sheer Glow hype, and to be honest it was more of a spur of the moment purchase when I was in Space NK earlier this month. This has become my new everyday foundation and I'm loving the finish it gives to the skin - although don't be fooled by the world glow in the name, it's certainly more on the matte side and it's definitely not sheer. I'll get around to sharing all the details in a review soon!

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer

I've had a love/hate relationship with the Pro Longwear concealer for a few years now, I hadn't used it for a little while until I watched somebody use it in a YouTube video recently so I decided to dig it out and give it a try again, and I've loved it more than ever! I've found it really good at covering my acne scaring around my jaw and it gives enough coverage without looking thick or caked on the skin, I can't believe how much my opinions changed!

I've heard a few of my favourite YouTubers fave about this mask recently so obviously I had to give it a try for myself. LUSH are one of my favourite brands for face masks so I had high hopes and it's lived up to them and more! This is an exfoliating mask that leaves the skin feeling super soft, smooth and ready for the day ahead - this is a must have for me now!

By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock

I've been really lazy with my eye makeup this month, I usually like to play around with different shadows to create new looks but I've just been into the really effortless easy to wear look that I can slap on in rush before I'm out the door. I've been using this stick shadow from By Terry the most as it's just so easy to wear, and this stuff lasts forever on the eyelids!

OPI x Hello Kitty Small + Cute

Last but not least we have a nail polish. Now I'm a massive Hello Kitty fangirl to the point that I actually have a Hello Kitty Bow tattooed on my wrist - something that often features in my swatch photos and a lot of people think is fake, but nope it's real! When I heard about the Hello Kitty collection with OPI I was obviously going to be all over it, and so far I've managed to restrain myself to only buying two shades (see, I tried with the whole no buy January thing!). Small + Cute has been my favourite, it's such a pretty baby pink - the typical Samm shade!

So those are all of the products I've been loving throughout January, what's your favourite been?
