If you follow me on social media I’m sure you’d have seen that I’ve been in hospital the past couple of days thanks to my disaster of a brain. I got taken in after I started to notice the symptoms of the pressure on my brain coming back, so after I went to the optician they confirmed the swelling was back behind my eyes so it was time to go into hospital to get it sorted.
It’s been a fairly scary couple of days to be honest. As well as the pressure on my brain, the CT scan showed what they thought was a clot on my brain which they needed to look closer at in an MRI. I’ve honestly never felt as scared as I did laying in the MRI machine, it felt like I was laying there forever with nothing to think about other than what was going to happen, not knowing what a clot on the brain could do or how it was treated. Thankfully it wasn’t a blood clot, I’ve never felt so relieved in my life!
After seeing various ophthalmologists, neurologists and after lots of tests and needles (my worst fear) to rule out more dangerous causes for the raised pressure and to find the actual cause of it, I’ve been let home with lots of follow up appointments and medication. I still don’t feel brilliant, in fact this is the first time I’ve been able to see properly enough to sit and write a blog post -so please excuse any typos- but it’s a big improvement from laying in a hospital bed crying my eyes out in pain and having seizures that were a lot more violent and painful than usual.
Obviously my blog is going to fall behind because I’m not very organised and I usually only write up a blog post the night before it goes up, so I don’t have any scheduled. I have some photos taken so when I’m feeling a bit better I might be able to write some up – I’ve got to keep my brain alive somehow now I’m on bed rest for the next couple of days! Luckily I’ve got my mum to keep me company, she’s been brilliant at supporting me the past couple of days and didn’t leave my side bless her. On Saturday my nan was also in hospital for a procedure just round the corner from my bed so my family came up to visit us both, and my nan even came round to see how I was afterwards which was lovely.
So I won’t ramble on for much longer, I just wanted to keep you guys in the loop as to why my blogs been without posts for the past couple of days and why posts might not be that regular for the next week or two. Thank you to everyone who sent me get well soon messages across social media, it was lovely to read them and I was surprised by how many I received, you guys are bloody incredible!
Hope you’re all doing well! Speak soon.
