Hello… it’s me (I had to). So my blogs been a bit neglected for the past week or so as life just got in the way and I slacked on scheduling posts in advance. As my life got busier I started to lack motivation as far as blogging goes, so I decided to step back for a while. I didn’t want to force a post for the sake of it, so I decided it’s okay to take a break, sometimes you need to! I’m also preparing to go into hospital for a few days later this week for some tests on my crazy seizure cursed brain, so getting things prepared for then has been even more stressful. But I’m back (finally!) and today we’re talking lip products… my favourites!
With the cold weather comes dry skin, and my lips are the part of my body that seem to get affected the most leaving me relying on lip balm, and lots of it! I’ve tried various ones over the years but the brand I always come back to is Balmi. I love the cubed packaging and the shape of the product, and it does a really good job at moisturising my lips. They have various different scents to offer but my favourite has to be Cherry.
Like lip balms, lip scrubs are also a vital step before applying my lip colour. Lip scrubs are going to remove the chapped areas, plump the lips and even add some moisture into the skin helping to make the perfect canvas for lip products. The one I’m currently using is from Etre Belle which I received in a Glossybox but I also love the scrubs that LUSH have to offer, especially the bubblegum one!
Liquid lipsticks used to be a firm enemy of mine up until this little beauty came into my life from Jeffree Star – gone are the days of dry cracked lips that feel like they’re suffocating under a layer of colour! Jeffree created such a beautiful yet comfortable formula for these. Celebrity Skin is a wearable soft brown nude that once applied lasts forever on the lips. I put this on at 8am and it was still going strong and wearing comfortably by 3pm which is vary rare with any lipstick, yet alone a matte!
Lipsticks in crayon form are just so much easier to use as they combine both a liner and a lipstick in one making them perfect for time saving or on the go. This one from NARS is the perfect muted medium pink that’s really easy to wear. It lasts well on the lips and feels really comfortable to wear
Charlotte Tilbury has fast become one of my favourite makeup brands, and this lipstick really is one of the stand out products for me. Penelope Pink is such a beautiful and easy to wear pinky beige nude. It has a creamy yet highly pigmented formula which is similar to the amplified finish from MAC. I love wearing this with the Iconic Nude Lip Cheat and Seduction Lip Lustre, both which are also from Charlotte Tilbury.
Benebalm is the lip option I go for when I want to moisturise my lips whilst adding some colour without the commitment of a lipstick. It’s easy to wear, adds hydration and a subtle pop of colour so it’s really easy to wear, especially if you’re in a hurry as you won’t need to fuss around with lip liner or being extra precise as the colour is rather sheer. I also own Lollibalm which is more pink in tone so I like to switch it up between the two depending on my makeup/outfit that day.
So those are the lip products I’ve been loving lately, what your favourite?
