It's officially December - pass me the Christmas hat, a glass of Shloer (childhood memories, and the heartbreak when you realise its not actually wine) and put on The Grinch. I'm so excited for Christmas this year, I swear it gets more exciting the older I get! December means the arrival of Blogmas, basically I'll be posting everyday on the buildup to Christmas. I'm still going to resume usual beauty posts as well as some Christmas ones and a couple of giveaways over the next couple of weeks, I can't wait! Today we're kicking off Blogmas with a monthly favourites...
The Touche Eclat has been a love of mine for the last 5/6 years and I've repurchased it numerous times throughout that time. It was one of the first high end beauty products I purchased, and basically the starting of my YSL obsession, so it'll always hold a special place in my heart. When I saw this limited edition Kiss & Love edition, I had to own it and my old one ran out a few days before the release so it was perfect timing. The Touche Eclat is basically my perfect under eye concealer, it's so brightening without giving me that heavy under eye concealer look, and it doesn't crease *hands trophy to YSL*. I won't go into a full review here because I have one going up in the next couple of days.
This was a spontaneous "ooh that looks nice, I'll buy that" purchase when I was battling to get to the MUFE tills back at the IMATS earlier this year. I hadn't heard anything about it prior to buying it, but the word 'smoothing primer' sold it to me. It's a lovely primer and smoothes out the skin beautifully. I use it on my t-zone which is my problem area for pores, and does a great job at smoothing and covering them giving a smooth base my for foundation... think Benefit Porefessional but 100x better.
This nail polish has been on my nails more than any other colour this month, and my mums been loving wearing it as well. I've had lots of people ask me what colour I've been wearing when I wear this, so it had to feature in this post. It's a plum with slight iridescent shimmer in it, it's such a beautiful colour!
I always see people rave about tea tree oil for spots, but I'd never given it a try before. When I saw this in ASDA I thought I would give it a try for the pesky hormonal blemishes I was trying to battle (thanks body). This has practically saved my skin, I couldn't be without it now! It really helps to dry out and clear up blemishes and I notice a big improvement over night. The only downside is the smell, I happen to like it but it is a very strong natural smell that my mum and sister hate the smell of, so bare that in mind.
This was another purchase back from the IMATS, but one that I've only got around to using recently. Cream eyeshadows are my favourite, not only do they make a great base under eyeshadow, you can also wear them alone. I find creams so easy to wear, and perfect for quick application when I haven't got much time. This one from MUFE is a beautiful deep coppery brown that works beautifully under various different shadows. I love using this under MAC Cranberry eyeshadow, they're the perfect combination.
This moisturiser is literally everything! It's by far the best I've ever tried... the only problem? It's £125 for the full size pot so I'm literally trying to save every last scoop from this sample. I've been using this every morning and night for the past couple of weeks and I've noticed such an improvement in my skin. It's so much plumper and smoother, and just looks so much healthier. There's no way I can justify the full price so when this runs out, you'll find me crying me heart out as I swap back to my more affordable options.
Anastasia is not only the queen of brows, but the queen of eyeshadows too. Anastasia Beverly Hills are my favourite brand for shadows, and whenever they release a new palette I make sure to pick it up before it sells out. This Self-Made palette is the newest addition to my collection, and I absolutely love it. My favourite ABH shadow is Pink Champagne so I'm so glad it's in this palette. I love the variety of shadows in this palette, there's so many different looks that you can create with them. It's currently out of stock on the UK sites, but Sephora have it and they do ship to the UK.
