Beauty advent calendars get me more and more excited for December every year. Don’t get me wrong, I love a little chocolate every morning being the chocaholic I am, but knowing you’re opening the door to find a beauty product every day is just 100x better! This year I went for the Look Fantastic Beauty Secrets Advent Calendar, and today I’m sharing the goodies behind doors 1 to 5…
Moroccanoil Treatment 25ml – £13.45 (£31.85 for full size 100ml)
I’ve wanted to try this for what seems like forever, so it was a lovely start finding this behind door number 1! So far I’m really impressed with this oil, I’ve been using it on the mid to ends of my hair both whilst damp before drying, or on my in-between hair wash days on dry hair to bring some shine back to it. Although I’ve only tried it a couple of times, I’m very impressed!
Lord & Berry Skin Lip Gloss – £10.50
I can’t find the shade name of this gloss, I can see on the website they have names but mine doesn’t seem to say one (annoying!). It’s an orangey/brown -think Kylie Jenner style- with tiny little microscopic bits of glitter that don’t transfer onto the lips. Although it’s called a lip gloss, it dries down to an almost matte colour that’s really comfortable to wear. It also has a really nice yet addictive scent, I can’t stop smelling the blooming thing!
Glamglow Super Mud Clearing Treatment – 10ml (£44.99 for full size 30ml)
I’ve heard so many great things about Glamglow, but I’ve never given it a try before down to the price. I’ve used it twice and my first impressions are good, but I’m not amazed. Yes it felt nice and my skin felt cleaner afterwards, but I didn’t see much of a visible difference in my skin, at least not £45 worth of difference. I don’t like the texture of the mask, it has bits in it that just flake off the skin whilst you’re wearing it. I was really hoping to love this mask, yes it’s nice but I just don’t think it’s worth the full price, I have masks that work the same if not better than cost a fraction of the price.
Redken Diamond Oil Deep Facets Mask – 30ml (£23.50 for full size 250ml)
I haven’t actually got around to using this yet, but I’m excited to give it a try! I have light bleached hair so it practically cries out for anything that’s conditioning and contains oil. It says to apply to towel dried hair and leave in for 5-15 minutes before finding out, so it’s basically hair mask I’m sure my hair will love.
REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask – 15ml (£32 for full size 75ml)
I was happy to find another face mask behind door number 5 after being let down by the Glamglow. The first thing I noticed was the consistency, it’s very sticky gel almost like honey which felt weird to apply to my face! I left it on for about 10-15 minutes and then removed it with a damp cloth. Afterwards my skin did look more glowing and just more alive and felt incredibly soft. My first impression is very good!
So that’s everything behind doors number 1-5, I’m really liking this calendar so far and can’t wait to see what’s behind the other doors! Have you got a beauty advent calendar this year?
P.s. Apologies for the terrible photo, finding time to catch decent lighting is practically impossible in Autumn/Winter time!
