Looking back through my blog posts I saw that I haven’t actually shared a monthly favourites since July (where has time gone?!) so one was long overdue. Can you believe we’re now in November? What the hell. We only have two months left of 2015 and in my head it still feels like 2010. That reminds me I really should start to think about Christmas shopping, but knowing me I’ll probably end up leaving it till the last minute – typical Samm! Anyway, enough rambling and onto the products I’ve been loving throughout October…
Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spritzer
I’ve only ever tried one product from Liz Earle which was the Cleanse & Polish which in all honesty I don’t think deserves the hype it gets *gasps in shock horror*. When I was out shopping with my sister, she went in to repurchase it for herself (she’s a huge Cleanse & Polish fan), and I was having a look at the other products when I saw this Skin Tonic. I liked the sound of it, and the fact it comes in a spray bottle, +10 points to Liz Earle. I simply pop on a couple of sprays before my moisturiser and my skin practically thanks me for those refreshing, calming and soothing sprays.
I spoke about my new found love for Balance Me a couple of posts ago (link), and this Congested Skin Serum has really been one of the stand out products for me. Although I’ve got rid of the acne I used to have, I still do get the occasional breakout and I’ve found this helps to calm and control my skin without being drying, like a lot of products aimed at blemishes can be. This is a lifesaver when it comes to pores as well, I’ve noticed a big visible difference. I’ll be repurchasing the full size when this little on runs out.
This foundation has always been one I’ve gone back to time after time, and the one I always seem to recommend when I’m asked which foundation I recommend. I can always rely on Healthy Mix especially when my skin is more on the dry side – thanks cold weather for that! I’ve been wearing this foundation pretty much daily recently, and the fact it’s affordable and from the drugstore is another huge bonus, spending £30+ on a bottle of high end foundation almost kills me.

I love Sugarpill as a brand, I love what they stand for and how they create such beautiful and colourful products. I picked up this loose eyeshadow back at the IMATS earlier this year, and I’ve loved it ever since. Now Autumn is here I’ve found myself reaching for this a lot, and it looks really nice when paired with purple/burgundy shadows, aka my go to eyeshadow colours for Autumn.
Glitter is the way to my heart so when I saw this nail polish in a set in TK Maxx, I had to pick it up. This teal green glitter has little bits of pink in and looks so beautiful on the nails. For a glitter, it’s fairly opaque and I found that I only needed 2 coats without having to use a colour underneath like most glitter polishes. The lasting power has also impressed me, I found that with a top coat (Sally Hansen Insta Dri) it lasted 5 days without chipping, and would have gone longer but I wanted to change the colour, typical Samm.
I put off buying a Milani blush for so long because I thought they were just one of those products that got more hype than they really deserved, and did I really need any more blushes? Exactly. Well one evening when I was online browsing I finally caved in and ordered Dolce Pink – it was just too beautiful to resist! It’s the perfect medium pink with gold shimmer, think Nars Orgasm at a fraction of the price. It isn’t too shimmery and just adds that perfect pop of pink for everyday wear. I’ve been wearing this a ridiculous amount during the month so I had to mention it in this post.
Gerard Cosmetics have really impressed with with the lipsticks I’ve tried so far, and I mentioned this shade in a post back in July. Buttercup is for me, the perfect nude. It’s a lipstick that I know whatever makeup look I’m wearing, this will go with it. I like to pair it with MAC Whirl lip liner and it’s such an easy everyday combo to wear.
I’ve just realised I mentioned this palette in my July monthly favourites, but hey I guess mentioning it twice shows I really must love it! I love all the colours in this palette, I love how pigmented and buttery soft the shadows are. My favourite shade has to be Pink Champagne, which I love so much I actually bought the new Self-Made palette just because it has it in. ABH shadows have really impressed me, and this palette is a must for me.
Hope you’ve had a fab October and and even more fab November!
