My Everyday Autumn Makeup Look

Autumn is finally here, out come the scarves, ankle boots, excessive amounts of hot chocolate and vampy lipsticks. I love everything about Autumn (apart from the lack of natural lighting, dry skin and colds… ok we’ll ignore those!). As the bright pink lipsticks and pastel nail polishes slowly start to disappear, in come the beautiful berries, burgundies, purples and reds. This makes me so happy! Today I wanted to share my current Autumn makeup routine that I’ve found myself wearing a lot lately.

For my face, I first start by priming my skin with the L’Oreal Skin Perfection Magic Touch Instant Blur, a brilliant pore filler that I find 100 times better than Benefits Porefessional and only a fraction of the price. I then apply a generous amount of the Mario Badescu Facial Spray to add the much needed hydration to my skin now dry skin season aka the devil is approaching.

As for foundation I used my current fave, the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in 1N2 Ecru and then the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla to conceal my dreaded dark undereyes. I then set that all with my new holy grail Laura Mercier Transparent Loose Setting Powder, this stuff is life.

On my cheeks I’ve been loving the Urban Decay Naked Flushed in Native. This super handy trio contains a bronzer, highlighter and blush all in one which is super convenient especially when I’m traveling. The three colours work beautifully when paired together. The higlighter in this gives the perfect ‘glow from the gods’ look, I adore it!

I’ve been keeping my eyes fairly simple lately, mainly because 1. I’m lazy and would rather have an extra 5 minutes in bed, and 2. I recently got contact lenses so my eyes have been super watery and irritated. I start off by priming my eyes with the Laura Mercier Eye Basics in Wheat, and I then use my beloved Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette (aka the best palette ever). I start off by taking the shade Salted Caramel as a transition colour, then using Semi-Sweet in my crease and Triple Fudge to darken the outer corner. The same three colours are also on my lower lash line as well. I used the shade Marzipan all over the lid, and the highlighter from the Urban Decay trio on my inner corner. As for liner, I used the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Zero and on my lashes I’m wearing the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara, but please excuse my patchy stubby little lashes, thanks for that alopecia!

Moving onto brows, I’m using the Anastasia Beverly Hill Dipbrow Pomade in Taupe to fill and shape my brows, the MAC Pro Longwear Waterproof Brow Set in Emphatically Blonde to set them and then the MAC Prep+Prime Highlighter in Radiant Rose to shape and clean around the brows.

On my lips I’m wearing the Essence Lip Liner in Honey Berry. The Essence Lip Liners have really impressed me, and they’re so affordable! I’m wanting to get my hands on the other ones I don’t have yet then I’ll do a full post on them for you. My lipstick is my Autumn fave, the YSL Rouge Pur Couture The Mats in 207 Rose Perfecto (review here). It looks a lot brighter on the picture than it actually is, Rose Perfecto is actually a beautiful dark rose that YSL realised for Fall 2014. After applying my full face of makeup I then spray a ridiculous amount of MAC Fix+ to help soften the face and get rid of that excess powdered look.
