I recently picked up the Babydoll mascara after having it used on me when I had my make up done. It had been on my wish list for a while but I never got around to picking it up. I haven’t tried a YSL mascara before, so I picked this up as my normal Max Factor mascara was beginning to dry up. I admit I do have a thing for YSL packaging, it’s so perfect, the gold catches my eye and I do find the products I’ve tried so far to be worth the price.
First up.. my lashes are totally different on both my eyes. I suffer from alopecia and my eyelashes are mostly effected. In my younger teenage years they used to fully fall out and I literally had no lashes, then spend ages waiting for them to grow back and they’d fall out again. This has left my lashes totally uneven, my left eye has short straight lashes and my right eye has longer curled lashes. I do apologise for that picture, my lashes look awful and those bags under my eyes! oh dear.. but anyway I wanted to show the mascara on.
Onto the mascara.. I’m really loving it. The thing I like most is how black it is, I’ve honestly never found a mascara that looks so black on the lashes. I’ve found it really separates my lashes whilst adding volume. I do use two coats as I find it makes my lashes longer, but you do have to be careful as it can go clumpy, so you wont need any more than two coats or else the spiders will come knocking on your door! It lasts all day on my lashes without flaking or smudging.
The applicator is another bonus for me, it’s a slim rubber wand with small bristles which is my favourite type of mascara wand. I find it gets super into the lashes and they get smaller towards the tip making it easier to get into the corner of the lashes. The gold packaging is adorable, I’m addicted to this. I also love the ‘Babydoll’ name, it sounds super cute.
Overall I’m really happy with this purchase, although it was expensive I feel that it’s totally worth it, YSL Babydoll Mascara you have won a place in my heart and the award of being my new holy grail mascara.
