I do like drugstore makeup, and I think there is some great products out there, many that don’t get as much recognition as they deserve. I thought I would actually do this tag, I feel as though I haven’t done a tag in forever so here it goes…
1. What is your favorite drugstore makeup brand overall?
This is a hard one to choose, I like different products from different brands, but I would say it would be Maybelline with Rimmel not far behind.
2. What are your favorite face, cheek and lip products?
Face- Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder £3.99
This product is so hyped about and it really deserves it. This powder is so good and doesn’t cake on the face like I find a lot of powders do. Another bonus is the price, £3.99 for this beauty is a bargain.
Cheek- FashionistA Bronzer in Paris £4.00
I am very fussy with bronzers, it took me years to find one I like (I’m still searching for ‘the one’) but for now I switch it up between this and my Nars Laguna. This one is a bargain and sits so well on the skin, does the job for such a great price.
Lip- Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain £7.99
I own 4 of these (Crush, Lovesick, Cherish and Darling) and I really do love these, Crush and Lovesick are my favourites as they really do stain the lips.
3. Least favourite product?
This has to be Seventeens On the Spot Foundation which I did review back in July. I really enjoyed it for the first week then it started breaking me out, making my skin super oily and going cakey so I stopped using it. I really didn’t get on with this foundation.
4. What is the best makeup bargain?
MUA Blusher in shade 1 is my best bargain product, I only paid £1 for it and I enjoy using it. It’s pigmented but not too powerful on the face and can be built for a brighter colour.
5. What is your favourite underdog product? (Something you love that often gets overlooked?)
This is an easy choice, I think the FashionistA blush in shade 6- Juicy Apricot is a product that doesn’t get the hype it deserves. I really enjoy working with this colour and would hate to be without it in my collection.
6. A drugstore product that is overpriced?
I find L’oréal mascaras overpriced for what they are, they are about £10-£11 which is a lot for a drugstore product. I love my Maybelline Mascaras which are cheaper, and in my opinion better than the L’oréal mascaras.
7. Show your best drugstore dupe(s)!!
I found this hard to actually pick a dupe, but looking through and comparing products in my collection I did find the Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer very similar to the MAC Studio Finish Concealer. They have similar consistencies but the MAC does have a higher coverage.
8. Drugstore product that isn’t worth the hype?
Bourjois Bronzing Powders really aren’t worth the hype in my eyes, I can’t stand the smell and they’re not very nice to apply either. I wouldn’t buy them again.
Hope that gave an idea into what products I like/dislike from the drugstore, let me know if you do or have done this tag.
